I met my friend for lunch today and we went bathing suit shopping. This restaurant is our favorite. And no, I didn't buy anything from the bakery counter!!
I am 58, overweight again, and trying to get healthy. I am blogging about weight loss and everyday issues for women. My blog will include ramblings about the daily life of a mother, grandmother, wife and friend. I would love to have you come along for the ride!

Now going shopping for swim suits with a bunch of girlfriends makes sense to me! We'd be able to laugh about how most of them had to be sewn wrong because they no longer fit our "youthful" figures!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is so much fun going with friends. At my age, nobody really likes the way they look in a bathing suit! Someone can run and get you more suits to try on and you can stay put, too!
DeleteWhat I wouldn't give to go out to lunch and that looks a lot lot Panera, which I just love. And usually do buy from the bakery counter, because oh how tasty their bakery items are!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is just a little downtown restaurant, individually owned. They are usually packed. We usually sit around and then everyone is gone. They make everything fresh and usually pretty healthly. Of course, all the desserts are full of sugar, but delicious. We haven't ordered dessert in a long time. They make a veggie quiche that is full of vegetables. I usually take the crust off. I does have a Panera feel, just smaller and cozier. The staff all know the customers.
DeleteBut did you get a swimsuit?! :)
ReplyDeleteand good girl re the bakery counter!
I guess I forgot to add that didn't I? Well I did, two as a matter of fact, and I actually liked them. The selection was much better than usual. I would post pictures, but that would be gross!
Deleteyumm...i love shopping early morning and then indulging in all those carbs ;)
ReplyDeletegreat pix
I tried to stay away from the process carbs! Had salad, fruit, and veggie quiche minus the crust. If I started at the bakery counter the results would be very bad! They do sell quite a lot of their fresh baked goodies, though!
DeleteGood for you that you didn't buy any pastries even though they are so tempting. It's good to have self control! If you started a bakery, I would probably be the only one there. lol.
ReplyDeleteIf I started a bakery I wouldn't make any money, I would want to eat everything I made. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteLooks so fun! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks, yes it was a fun day. I love Rosie's (the restaurant).
DeleteWow, good job on avoiding the bakery stuff... although did you eat before or after swim suit shopping? I'd probably not get the sweets before shopping but would totally need a brownie after shopping! I know, I have food issues! =)
ReplyDeleteOkay, you caught me! I ate before I went swimsuit shopping, and I was sitting there thinking about putting to much into my body and how I was going to look. I haven't had dessert there for months though. I am doing really well with sweets right now.
DeleteThe bakery counter looks good! Now i want a donut and a muffin. Lol
ReplyDeleteWe had to stand there about 10 minutes while we were waiting to pay. You could smell all the good smells. It is very tempting.
DeleteBetty, that's so awesome that you passed up that mound pastries AND found TWO swimsuits! Girlfriends can make even trying on swimsuits fun!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, It was a fun time, even with trying on swimsuits!
DeleteI probably would have skipped the swimsuits and went straight to the pastries!
ReplyDeleteIt would have tasted good, but I have to go to the beach. I don't want to look any worse than I do now.
DeleteYou are doing so well!! Good for you for being able to show restraint! Gotta love good time with friends. :) Hope you're having a great week!

Thanks, it helps that my friend eats pretty healthy most of the time. She never seems to overdo on any food, that's probably why she is still small.
DeleteThanks Alice, I just did a Liebster yesterday. I will try to do it. I really enjoy them, but I am trying to get organized for vacation. I really appreciate you thinking of me!
ReplyDeleteHi Betty, one day at a time....I agree! Swimsuit shopping sounds like fun. Hope you enjoyed DYWW!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joi, I have really enjoy getting to see all the blogs and post on DYWW. It is such a great group of women.
