I used to love you....

Make sure to take a look at My Weight Loss Blog Directory!!!

I used to love you.....

This week's Finish the Sentence Friday sentence is I used to love....

Well, I used to love you high heeled shoes.  I used to love the look of you, the feel of you, the way I felt while walking in you.  I used to love when you made me feel really tall and elegant.  Well, guess what?

I used to love you

You broke my heart!  You started to hurt my feet and legs.  It started slowly.  If I stood in you for a while my legs hurt.  Now I can't wear your beautiful, elegant heels any more.  I have lots of you still in my closet, but you just hang out there with other shoes now. I barely ever pull you out, and for me to take you out for an evening on the town, I just can't do it.

I miss you but, you have just hurt me too much!!!

Friendship Friday

  • What hobbies do you enjoy participating in during your spare time?
  • What hobbies have you always wanted to learn?
  • Have you ever tried a hobby that just wasn’t your cup of tea?

My hobbies are scrapbooking, crafts, reading, genealogy and so many others.  I like doing all kinds of things.  I don't get bored I find something to do.  When I start scrapbooking I go on marathon's and don't stop for a while.

It's hard to select one.  I like learning everything!  Something I haven't really done is quilting.  I used to watch my mom and her friends quilt and I always thought that was pretty neat.

I am not good at painting.  Like painting pictures.  I don't think I have any talent for that.  I can paint walls just fine.

Enjoy Friendship Friday.

  1. I had to laugh just a bit Betty, but omg I am the same way with heels now. I have tons of them and they hurt my feet way too much to want to wear them. I do still wear, but very sparingly for sure, because my flats are just so much more comfortable now. There was a time that was all I wore though and still not sure how to be quite honest. Thanks so much for always linking up with us on Fridays!! :)

    1. I enjoy your hop. Flats are just so much more comfortable. I wish they could make heels that comfortable.

  2. Yeah. I have a closet full of heels that are neglected and hated and resented because they used to make me beautiful and now make me hurt. I wear flip flops or uggs. And almost nothing else. Really. Sigh.

    1. Yes, last year I think I wore tennis shoes most of the time.

  3. I couldn't stop laughing when I read about the high heels. I've seen some women suffer all night wearing those things, even their walk changes after a few hours to a slight hobble. I don't know how they do it, ha ha ha.
After a while I guess it's best to give them more time in the cupboard and give your feet time to finish growing :) What a funny post.

    1. Thanks! I will sometimes wear my heels when I know I am going to spend the entire evening sitting. It's still rough to just get from the car and back.

  4. Aw that's sad! I don't wear them much, and they're usually not that high (I couple with a platform sole where possible) but I do love my heels.

    1. I will wear some of the small heels but the high ones are just about gone forever I think.

  5. I rarely wear my heels but I pull them out once a week... I could buy flats but they don't make me feel as pretty :)

    1. There is just something about heels that make you feel much more elegant.

  6. What a fun post! I despise heels but I still wear them unfortunately. They make the fit on church days but usually that's it. I'm a flats kinda girl!

I used to be into photos and now that I'm blogging, I've been forced to take that up again. I'm taking baby steps but one day I'll finish my course. I also find this blogging hobby to be most exhilarating:)

    1. I think I'm beginning to despise them too! If I could wear them and feel decently comfortable though, I would grab them right up.

Photography and blogging are great hobbies.

  7. Some relationships are just not meant to always be. :)

I used to wear heels every day of the work week. Now I'm a SAHM, and I wonder if my feet are going to be happy when I get back to working. We shall see. ;)

    1. I think that may be part of the problem. I have gotten so used to more comfortable shoes since I haven't had to dress up daily for quite some time.

  8. OMG...yes...I forgot about my sexy shoes and boots. I can no longer wear them anymore, my ankles, feet, and toes hurt if I am not wearing a supportive flat. the hazards of pregnanyc, LOL

    1. I bet they are really bad when you are pregnant!

  9. Argh! I'm right there with you when it comes to heels. Why I still have a few pairs lingering in my closet is beyond me. I haven't taken them out in forever! Not worth my feet or back screaming at me later. :(

  10. Ah...High heeled shoes- How I loved you so. Now that I have 3 young kids and I'm always juggling the kids, a bag, doors and I need to be able to chase after a kid at any moment- heels just don't fit my lifestyle anymore. Maybe some day...

    1. Oh yes, I remember those days. I didn't have time to put on a pair of heels.

  11. I've never been able to wear high heels... I'd tip over and fall flat on my face! Too bad we don't all have permanent tip-toe shaped feet like Barbie Dolls so they'd fit perfectly in high heel shoes!

    1. I like the idea of Barbie feet. There we go, we just need to have permanent inserts put into our feet to be like Barbie. Maybe we could all get our waist shaped like that too! Lol

  12. Fortunately I am 5'9" and never liked wearing heals -- they always made me feel like I towered over everyone - well I did! Ahhhh the money I saved...

    1. Yes, I bet you did! I think if you wore heels you would have been majestic. You know, like a super model!

  13. Oh man I give you a lot of credit...I NEVER loved high heels. They sure look pretty but I have small, flat feet and they've always hurt me. I've never been able to comfortably wear them so I loathe them!!

  14. Too funny! I have to say I've never liked heels so I prefer to leave mine hanging out in the closet! But they do make legs look long and lean like nobody's business!

  15. Yes! I miss heels, too, though I still wear them on occasion. Now, I mostly live in flats. Sigh.

  16. Oh man, I've never been able to wear high heels. I wore them a couple times in college and high school. And they weren't even really heels - nothing like the stilettos I see today. I max out with maybe an inch of a wedge shoe. These days I'm going with sneakers and crocs. Lame. But comfortable. ;-)

  17. Sneakers and crocs sound good to me! Comfort is so important nowadays.
