Blog Every Day in May - My Advice For You!

Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.

My piece of advice it to give up wheat and sugar.  I know some of you probably don't agree with this.  If you have read the book Wheat Belly, you will understand why I advise this.  Wheat has been altered so much to be able to fight off disease and to speed the growing process.  This allows the producers to make more money.  Some of these genetic changes make the wheat harder for your body to handle.  So for your health you need to give it up.

Processed sugar is very addictive and does not have any real benefits to your body.  Do you really need to consume processed sugar?  No!

I have found that giving up wheat and sugar is not as difficult as it sounds.  Just eat meats, fruits and vegetables, nuts, eggs, and some dairy.  Make everything as fresh as possible and organic if you can.

If you give up wheat and sugar your excess weight will quickly melt off.

I have tried to give up wheat and sugar in the past and have done very well for a long period of time.  My weight was where it should be and I felt very good.  Then I decided I needed pizza, and I ate  something with sugar.  That one taste of something with sugar got me craving it again!!  My weight shot right back up!  This time I intend to stay away from sugar permanently, and wheat most of the time.

  2. Amy, grain-free is gluten free, but gluten free is not grain free.

  3. I think getting away from anything that's genetically modified is a good idea. It's hard at first, but it's worth it. I'm not saying I'm 100% away from it (I do love pizza), but I sure feel better when I'm eating the best I can. Great advice!

    1. Thanks Laurie, I wish they weren't more concerned with making money than producing foods that are good for our health.

    1. Wendy, I will try. I have been incredibly busy and I hate to link up if I don't have time to visit everyone. If I don't make it this week I will very soon.

  5. Organic is just so much better since they don't use pesticides and other unhealthy things. Gwen answered the gluten free question. I think pretty much all wheat is genetically altered.
