Blog Everyday in May - My story!

I am starting a new challenge.  The challenges help me come up with new posts everyday.  I normally post everyday anyway, it just helps.  I may post more than once on some days when the prompt for the day doesn't work well with something else I want to post.

I am getting started on this a little late so I will post extra to try to catch up on the first few days.  The list of prompts is located on The Story of My Life's blog.  Thanks to Jenni for the challenge.

Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph... no one will be counting your words... probably)

I am starting with day one and will catch up pretty quickly.  I will try to do to or three a day until I am caught up.

I was born in Missouri, and grew up in Indiana.  I am the eighth of

nine children.  I am getting so old I don't remember much about my

childhood.  I am 58, who can remember back that far.   I have had a

very fun life.  I have had a few tragedies, but I choose not to focus

on them.  I love all my siblings, and my children and grandchildren.

My husband and I are going to be alone starting next year.

Hopefully, that will work out well.  We have never lived alone

before.  After my first husband died, my kids and I lived alone for

12 years, then I married my second husband.  We started out with

my older two boys still living at home, and my daughter at college.

By the time my youngest son moved to college, my husband and

I had our son.  We have spent more time alone in the last year or so

since my son seems to be busy with friends and has many activities

that don't include us.  Most of the last 18 years we have spent with

our son tagging along with us.  The three of us have been very

close, and we just really didn't spend much time without him.  I am

on to a new adventure in a few months.  I will see what it is like to

live all alone with my husband!  I hope I can get him to spend some

time traveling.  I have traveled with my son most of the time lately.

  1. I wondered how long you were on your own before you married your second husband. Twelve years is a long time...

    1. Yes twelve years is a long time. I was very independent. I am still adjusting to having someone else around! My husband says sometimes he doesn't feel like I need him. I guess it is just me trying to protect myself. I was devastated t when my first husband died, so I guess I just feel the need to be able to take care of myself.

    1. I have always loved traveling. My biggest challenge will be to get my husband out. He is more of a home body.

    1. I have always tried to get some travel in over the years. I have been to several places, but I would like to make it to many more while my husband and I are young enough to really enjoy it. I want excitement! I am not ready to slow down for years to come.

  5. I'm sure your due for some alone time with hubby. I do miss my daughter, but also enjoy just being a couple. I love traveling and hope that works out for you. I'm not up to speed with Bloglovin. How do I find you there to follow you? I sometimes get emails telling me someone is follow me, I've tried to click on what I think is the heart to follow them, but honestly can't tell if I am.

    1. Thanks, yes I think we will adjust. It just will be strange without our son around at first. I have a BlogLovin button on the top right hand corner of my blog, you just need to click on it. It will take you to the site. Then you just click on the follow button.
