Make sure to take a look at My Weight Loss Blog Directory!!!
I have changed my Weigh-In day to Tuesdays for the summer. It seems like I have so many things going on and it just works better. I actually think Friday might be better, to weigh before weekends, but then I just might overeat on weekends thinking I have time to catch back up. So I will stay with Tuesdays for a while.
I am still recovering from the graduation cake. It has set me back a little. I am not going to eat any more sugar!! I'm not!!
I have still been attending open houses for all my son's friends. There were 3 on Saturday, along with graduation, and eating out with my kids. There were 10 on Sunday. I have one more weekend of those. There won't be near as many. There is nothing like partying for four weeks in a row to hurt your weight loss. And no, it's not okay. I have to learn to deal with life, whatever that brings. I have not eaten any more cake or desserts. I have been eating some things that probably contain too much salt. I really don't think I have been overdoing though. It's just the food isn't always the healthiest.
One open house had a sundae bar, I didn't have any. Everyone was raving about it. I just know that after the week before and eating the cake I wasn't even going to look at it.
I have been researching the effects of sugar. I am hoping my brain will finally take over and just realize that it might taste good for a few minutes, but in the long run I will feel much worse. Is instant gratification enough to eat something? I have to think about the aftereffects and my long term health!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Marc, I hope it keeps going southward!!
DeleteI'm so happy for you!! Hooray!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda!
DeleteWOW, that's a long time to party. Never heard of that many parties and that many weeks one after another. Why don't people have one big party, think of the money and time it would save, as well as the calories. I like your logic about Tuesday being better then Friday. Continued luck with your quest. Oh forgot to ask, what kind of a graduation is this? I mean is it high school, or advance education? It occurred to me it might be like a PH.D. or something well up there with that amount of celebrations.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's just high school. We live in a small town and know everyone, so you have to attend all the open houses. I don't want to hurt any of the kids feelings. My son has gone to school with most of them since kindergarten. Just small town life! He also played travel baseball with kids from some of the area schools. We spent every summer with those kids for 10 years.
DeleteCongrats on a loss during a difficult time to diet! YAY you! In a month, a week's time won't really have mattered. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, but I hate wasting the time anyway. I guess not enough or I would have stayed on track, no matter what!
DeleteI was wondering the same thing about all the parties. I have never heard of an open house.
ReplyDeleteI guess some areas of the country don't have open houses. My daughter graduated 22 years ago and they were having them back then. I believe when I graduated over 40 years ago we were doing them. Of course, it seems as though they get more extravagant then they used to. We kept ours pretty simple. It is just a way of celebrating graduation with all your friends. It's really pretty fun!
DeleteThis is so awesome and kudos to you for skipping the ice cream bar!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I guess I did do good with that part!
DeleteWell, you know how hard it is to lose each pound, so it doesn't sound much fun to gain it back at parties that way.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing great, Betty!!!
:-) Marion
Yes, I have a ways to go yet. I am not interested in going backwards. I just need more resolve. This week I will do better!!
DeleteIn the big picture you're doing fantastic ... don't stress on one week. Lesson learned, move on... making you stronger and more determined, go you!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lyn, I hope you're right!!
DeleteIt's so great to see this kind of progress :)

ReplyDeleteWe have open houses around here too :) My husband is from a very small town and his mother was a teacher so she literally gets invited to everything! Congrats on the weight loss, that is awesome!
