Does losing weight increase your wrinkles on your face?

Take A Look At My Weight Loss Blog Directory!!

AM I GETTING WRINKLY???

I took a picture of my face this week after losing 23.5 pounds.  I posted the other day about how I was worried about getting wrinkly if I lost too much weight.  I had several people comment that I have a face structure that wouldn't really show too many wrinkles.  I decided to post a before and after face picture to see what you think.

I think I want to lose at least 20 more pounds.  What will that do to my skin?

I also got a haircut the other day.  I haven't decided how much I like it and whether I will keep it this length for a while.

So tell me what you think of my old, wrinkly skin and whether I should keep my hair like this.

  1. You know, I don't see much difference wrinkle wise. You look nice and the hair is pretty. However, don't focus on that. We all get older.. if we live long enough. There are side effects to aging. However, bad health has far worse side effects. Learn to celebrate being alive.

I tell myself that I now have character lines.

    1. Thanks for the hair compliments. I really want to stay healthy. I guess some days the mirror makes me feel like it is all coming on too quickly. Most of the time I just avoid the mirrors.

    1. Thanks Meredith! I don't usually worry too much about the wrinkles, but I have seen some people that lose weight and they really start to look old and unhealthy. I don't want to do that!

  3. What wrinkles?!

And I'll say it again, even if we are getting wrinkles, HEALTHY IS MORE IMPORTANT. Geesh! You can't possibly want to favor (I'll say it) vanity over health?!

    2. I have always been of the mind that I look fabulous if I just stay away from the mirrors. I think I am more concerned about not going too far with the dieting and making myself look bad. I have seen some older women that just keep going and they start to look like skeletons. I don't think that is very healthy either. I don't think that will ever become a problem for me. I haven't been too skinny for a long, long time.

    1. Thanks Launna! I think when I took the picture of my new hair, I looked at my face a little too long and I thought I was really starting to look old. I am getting used to my new haircut. It is much easier to take care of.

  5. I like the shorter hair - I really don't like longer hair as we age, just my opinion. As for wrinkles, I have certainly become more wrinkled as I lost weight! Sad but true... never mind though at least my bum looks better in jeans :) I can't notice any difference in your wrinkles though,

    1. Thanks Lynda! I have noticed my bum is looking a little better too! My husband told me he has been noticing it too. I haven't had really short hair for years. It looks cute on you, I don't think it looks very good on me. My hair is so thick, it just won't keep a style without haircuts every two weeks. I get tired of having haircuts.

  7. I think you look great, Betty. Honestly, I'd probably take the wrinkles if it meant my overall health were improved by having lost weight.

  9. I see the aging going on when I look in a mirror. My health is the most important thing though. Thanks for the hair compliment. I still haven't decided if I like the way it looks, but it is easier to do.
